{TRAVEL} Jane wanders to Brighton

Hiya everyone!

As you may know, I was in England for 10 days last week and the one before. I had a fantastic time and was so happy to stay with my sister and spend time with her and my father.

To celebrate her 26th birthday, we did a little roadtrip to Brighton, across to Land's End and up to Bath. Today I will tell you about my Brighton experience.

Brighton is in East Sussex and is located due south of London. Below is a map of southern England and where we traveled to.

The arrived in Brighton at about 1pm and dropped off our bags at our hotel. We stayed at The Imperial which I sadly cannot recommend, the staff were rude and very unhelpful. You can read my review here.

Next, my dad, sister and I took a walk down to the boardwalk and took a stroll to the famous Brighton Pier. I convinced my sister to take outfit pics of me with the beach huts :)

After visiting the pier, trying to win Ashleigh an Eeyore in a claw machine, and getting a banana and Nutella crepe, we made our way to the Royal Pavilion.

Essentially, the Royal Pavilion is a building that once accommodated the royal family. The prince of England bought the "modest erstwhile farmhouse" and converted it to his own, rather bizarre, style. The outside looks like the Taj Mahal and the inside is opulently Chinese. Weird combo, right? Later on, during the war, the house was converted into a hospital for Indian fighters in the war. Today, the building belongs to the city of Brighton and is used as the number 1 tourist attraction. You can read more here. We weren't allowed to take photos, sadly.

After this, we went for a stroll down the high street. I imagined (read: hoped) bumping into Zoella or Gaby and becoming their best friend ;)

We went to Shakespeare's Head for dinner. People - you MUST GO HERE if you're ever in Brighton! They are said to have the best bangers and mash in Brighton and they did not disappoint. These were the best B&M I have ever had! There is a choice of about 8 sausages, 8 mash option, 6 sauces, and additional 4 sides. So, each of us could make up our own meal!

We had an early night, being tired after the drive and all the exploring, and knew we had another long drive the next day.

More about the trip next week!

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone! xoxo
