{Editorial} GetIt Magazine Durban - March 2016

Hiya everyone ♡

I am so happy that I have found a talented, professional, local photographer to partner with since my beloved Kate moved to Cape Town.

Her name is Robyn Jessica Botha and she has her own photography business called JessieBird Photography. We have teamed up a few times on shoots now, the latest being the cover and fashion story for the March issue of GetIt Magazine (Durban) and the Kids insert for the same issue.

You can see some of our other work here, here and here.

We chose an African sunset theme, so I scouted around sourcing items from various stores trying to find the perfect prints and include oranges, reds and golds. Most of the clothing and accessories were from Woolworths, YDE and Foschini.

Which look is your fave? Comment below!

{Lust List} Ankle Boots

Hiya everyone ♡

Oh my goodness, is it HOT in Durban? I've been back for a year already and I still cannot deal with this humidity. This, coupled with me living and working near the ocean, makes everyday dressing and hairstyling a bit of a nightmare. The frizz!!

I'm at that point near the end of the season when I am craving the next one. It happens at the end of every summer and winter for me (although we don't get much of a winter in Durban anyway). One trend bug that bit me in London was the array of beautiful ankle boots on display. I managed to get my hands on two pairs at Primark, and they were only £10 each :D

I cannot wait to wear them, but first I need chillier weather. In the meantime, I thought I would tempt you all with a selection of ankle boots I have chosen from a few South African online stores. Which is your favourite? Leave me a comment!

{Lookbook} Beatnik Boho

Hiya everyone ♡

This is another one of the posts I did with Get It magazine in Durban (read the online part here) and I chose the 70s trend as the theme for the shoot. My friend Robyn from JessieBird Photography and who works at Get It Durban and I found a forest/field in Hillcrest that was the perfect backdrop for the 70s vibe.

I styled this look two ways, one with the brown, plaited headband, and the other with the maroon felt hat - a perfect winter accessory!

A tip to help you look extra 70s? Sleek, straight hair in a middle part!
